Our Team

For many years, Christiany and Kristen have worked together with both surgical and medical inpatients, providing evidence-based, patient centered care, from the Intensive Care Unit to the wards. Their strong, shared passion for the cardiorespiratory area and their drive to provide the highest quality therapy to their clientele is the foundation for this practice.

Christiany Viana — Senior Physiotherapist

Christiany obtained her university degree in Physiotherapy in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2000. This was followed by full-time post-graduate training in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy in the Heart Hospital in 2001. She then worked mainly in cardiorespiratory and the ICU but also in the neurology and orthopaedic wards at the Heart Hospital in Sao Paulo for four years.

In 2006, Chris was a Visiting Physiotherapist in ICU and the respiratory ward at the Toronto General Hospital.

One year later, she had an opportunity to move to Australia and fell in love with its people and its land.

She worked as a physiotherapist in general medicine, respiratory and cardiac wards at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne for four years.

Moving permanently to Adelaide in 2014, Christiany worked for nine years at Flinders Private Hospital in the medical/surgical units and ICU, with an intense focus in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.

During her twenty-three years of experience, Christiany has had a broad exposure to all fields of physiotherapy, from in-hospital acute care to outpatient rehabilitation, with a strong interest and more training in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. Working in major hospitals from three different countries has given her the experience to manage diverse environments, be flexible and adaptable. She values patient centered and evidence-based practice and is committed to complying with all activities that improve service quality.

Kristen Neill — Senior Physiotherapist

Born and bred in Adelaide, Kristen attended the University of South Australia and received her physiotherapy degree with Honours in 1997. She initially worked for a private cardiorespiratory physiotherapy practice, treating patients in almost every private hospital in Adelaide. In 2000, she centered her work within Flinders Private Hospital within all areas of patient care, including neurology and orthopaedics, before focusing solely on cardiorespiratory patients once again.

With over twenty-five years of experience, Kristen has worked in many different fields of physiotherapy, including private practice, aged care, clinical education, public and private hospitals and in disciplines including geriatrics, neurology, women’s health and orthopaedics. She has always had a specific interest in cardiorespiratory, primarily in acute care and the Intensive Care Unit settings. With this level of diverse expertise, she is extremely well placed to provide assessment, critical education and therapy in the prehabilitation space.

On a personal note, she has adventured around the world to meet her passion for the outdoors, especially rock climbing, scuba diving and trekking. She also loves reading and baking, and has an interest in healthy living, exercise and assisting others to live their best lives.
